U12 ATP Training

Once our tryouts and selections process are complete the top, up to, 28 players selected for the U12 ATP program and the up to 14 players on the Seacoast ATP team will begin training in early August.

Fall:
As training begins, the top, up to, 28 players will train together each training day.  Both ATP coaches will work with all players in preparation for creating a 1st and 2nd groups before their first NEP game play weekend.  After 1st and 2nd groups are created, Monday trainings will continue to be held together while 2nd day weekly training groups will train separately.

Part of the ATP success is the ability to move up AND down (from 1st to 2nd group and 2nd to 1st group) which makes our players accountable for their actions in, and approach to, trainings.   ATP coaches, as well as U11-U12 DOC, will constantly review 1st & 2nd groups to ensure proper player placement.  Proper player placement will be based on each player’s continued approach to training, commitment to development & improvement as well as level of leadership shown to coaches and teammates.

The U12 Seacoast ATP team will train independently of the top ATP groups.  Depending on roster space, players’ performance and coaches discretion Seacoast ATP players may be invited to either train with the top ATP groups or even join permanently based on their fit within the top ATP group(s).

Both top ATP groups will participate in Fall New England Premiership league play while the U12 Seacoast team will play in the Granite State Youth Soccer League.

Winter:
When indoor training begins 1st and 2nd teams will train independently while the possibility to be moved from one group to another still exists based on players’ performance, approach to training and coach’s discretion.  The majority of training sessions will focus on individual skill, small-sided problem solving as well as speed and agility training.

The U12 Seacoast ATP team will train independently of the top ATP groups.  Depending on roster space, players’ performance and coaches discretion Seacoast ATP players may be invited to either train with the top ATP groups or even join permanently based on their fit within the top ATP group(s).

Spring:
As spring training begins outdoors ATP coaches will solidify 1st and 2nd group placements in preparation for spring NEP and State Cup play.  These rosters will remain the same for the spring season as State Cup regulations require league and state cup rosters to be identical. The 1st and 2nd teams will still have opportunities to train together based on coaches discretion but will be viewed as two separate teams during spring training and league play.

The U12 Seacoast ATP team will train independently and participate in the GSYSL for spring league play.
