The art of finishing is something totally different from being able to shoot the ball. The greats such as Torres, Adebayor and Messi have mastered the art of putting the ball past the keeper and we will introduce techniques and the frame of mind they use on the field. We will focus on the individual skills needed to score, get into position and make runs off the ball. Finishing is more than 1 v 1 with a keeper so we will also work on how to get into the spots a finisher should be in as well as the runs to make to get past the last defenders. This camp is appropriate for experienced travel players as well as club and high school players looking to learn a new way to think about going to goal.

SUSC’s Goalkeeper School will focus on technical aspects of the position, including:  GK-specific warm up, footwork, ball handling skills, shot stopping, proper diving, positioning within the goal mouth, distribution, and more.  Players will work on individual exercises and in small group activities.  Later in the day we will merge with field players from the Finishing School to face live shots during drills and game play.
