Seacoast United Continues Outreach Program Abroad

Within the last 6 months, Seacoast United has donated over 200 pairs of Nike soccer shoes and cleats, 100+ SUSC t-shirts, 100+ new and used soccer balls, soccer pumps, water bottles, 4 sets of uniforms and even a refurbished laptop computer. The donations have been shipped to areas such as war afflicted locals in Africa, a children’s orphanage in Honduras, as well as to members of the SSCN in Africa who support women’s health and equality.

Seacoast United and Seacoast United Maine plan to continue this type of support and hope to involve our current players.  As an example, Brian Levenson (SUSC U13’s) has just started a project to send cleats and balls to places in Africa and we welcome any of our players to approach us if they have similar types of programs they wish to make a difference with.  For any information of how you may be able to lend support or if you have suggestions, please contact Matt Glode at mglode@seacoastunited.org

Seacoast United has long been involved with supporting local soccer players and programs with support, advice and donations.  Recently, Seacoast United has broadened their Community Outreach programs to include international support and donations.  After returning from a trip working with youth leaders and children involved with the Sports for Social Change Network (SSCN) in Kenya, Paul Willis and Matt Glode have tried to identify and support groups where soccer equipment can be put to great use.  SSCN was introduced to Seacoast United by CARE Int. and Nike.
