2012 Soccerthon

On Friday, April 6th at the Seacoast United Outdoor Complex in Epping, NH, Seacoast United Soccer Club will begin its 4th ever 24-hour Soccerthon.  SUSC players from Junior Academy to U18, as well as alumni, parents and adults who play in the Club’s recreation leagues will play for a combined total of 24 hours through Saturday afternoon, April 7th.

The event will begin at 5pm on Friday, April 6th and conclude at 5pm on Saturday, April 7th.  The Club will do its best to work around scheduled league games for its teams during the event.

Format
The games will be 7-a-side and  played at the Club’s Outdoor Complex in Epping.  Each player will be assigned to a 10 person roster and will play in three 30-minute games over the course of a 3 hour period.  Over the course of 24 hours, there will be a total of at least 48 games played (we may have multiple games at the beginning and end with our younger players).

The Club will allocate time slots to the various age groups (specific time slots by age group to be announced by March 10th).  Teams will be created at the start of each 3-hour block based on the number of participants for that timeframe.

Fundraising & Online Donations
Each player in the Club and any friends of the Club who wish to participate will be asked to seek pledges or donations.  All pledges will be based on 24 hours, hence if someone pledges $1 an hour, they would ultimately donate $24, or they can make a straight donation of any amount.

50% of the funds raised by the individual player will be applied toward his/her Club tuition fees or international tournament travel costs.  The other 50% will benefit the Seacoast United Foundation’s scholarship and community grant programs.

Players have the ability to create their own personal fundraising page through the Seacoast United Foundation’s FirstGiving donation site here.  Players can then share their page with family and friends via email and social media (Twitter, Facebook, etc).  Click here for a brief overview of how to set up your own online donation page.
