Squire Named Lacrosse Director At Seacoast United
September 4, 2008
Mary Squire, Head Women’s Lacrosse Coach at Southern New Hampshire University, has been named Director of the Seacoast United Lacrosse Club.
Since taking over the SNHU program in 2003, Squire has led the Penmen into the Northeast-10 semifinals in each of the past 3 seasons, with an appearance in the NE-10 Championship game in 2008. Her hard work has resulted in NE-10 Coach of the Year honors in both 2007 and 2008,. She was also named as the 2007 womenslacrosse.com Division II Coach of the Year. Squire brings 20 years of coaching experience, primarily at the youth and high school levels.
Coach Squire’s philosophy:
"I have been coaching and officiating women’s lacrosse at various levels for the past 20 years. I believe in positive coaching and I believe in the abilities that each and every player has yet to discover. I am here for the game; the game is not here for me. I have seen a lot of good and bad in and around the sport throughout my career. I want you to know that I have accepted this position as the Lacrosse Program Director because I admire the commitment Seacoast United has made to this game and to the girls. I am really looking forward to working with the players and giving them a very rewarding experience."
