As part of English professional side, Oxford United, first ever pre-season trip to the USA, Seacoast United is pleased to announce that famous British sports TV presenter Jim Rosenthal will be the guest speaker at the Club’s Sports Business Luncheon at The Wentworth on Monday, July 11. The luncheon will take place from 12-1:30pm. Master of Ceremonies will be SUSC Founder, Paul Willis and additional guests will include Kelvin Thomas, Chairman of Oxford United Football Club. The admission price includes lunch, a ticket to the Thursday, July 14th match between Oxford United and the Seacoast United Phantoms, and a SUSC/Nike gift. Individuals can purchase a seat for $100, or a full table (seats 10) can be purchased for $1000.
On finalizing the tour and setting up this special event Willis said, “We are all delighted that Jim will help kick off the pre-season tour and I know everyone will enjoy meeting him and hearing some stories. We are the first Club in the country to put something like this together and for it to be in New Hampshire is very exciting. The luncheon will be a nice lead in to the three games scheduled for July 14, 16 and 18, two of which put Oxford up against Seacoast United Phantoms which will be great for all of our players and families in the region”.
Special Guest Speaker: Jim Rosenthal
Jim Rosenthal began his television career in 1980 and since then has become one of the most recognizable faces and voices in British Sports Broadcasting. He has covered everything from Football and Rugby World Cups to the Olympic Games, presented over 150 Formula One Grand Prix’s and anchored many World Championship Boxing Matches. Jim has built his reputation on being fair and honest and gained popularity in the UK with his direct questioning of leading figures in the sports world. Internationally, he has regularly hosted the UEFA Gala Dinner in Monaco, a football spectacular that is broadcast around the world. Rosenthal has won numerous awards at home and abroad and has twice been named Royal Television Society Sports Presenter of the Year. Jim has always been a loyal supporter of his childhood home team Oxford United and in June of last year, he was announced as a member of the Oxford United Board of Directors.
NEW CASTLE, NH - Seacoast United kicked off its busy week of events with the Jim Rosenthal Sports Business Luncheon held Monday afternoon at the Wentworth by the Sea Hotel & Spa. Guest speaker Rosenthal, a famous British sportscaster, addressed the 125 guests in attendance this afternoon in the first of many such special events this week hosted by both Seacoast United and sister club Oxford United from England.
