NEW HAMPSHIRE – Historically one of the top clubs in the Super Y-League’s New England Division, Seacoast United announced today their plans to operate a second independent SYL club based out of the nearby greater Nashua/Manchester region of New Hampshire. The club, officially titled the Seacoast United Wanderers, will be spearheaded by USSF and NSCAA National "A" Licensed Coach, Patrick Mulcahy.
“This announcement is as big for Seacoast United as it will become for the Super Y-League,” said Seacoast United Executive Director, Paul Willis. “We are very excited to be able to offer this opportunity to kids in the Nashua and Manchester areas. Seacoast United is dedicated to establishing the Wanderers as their own stand-alone Super Y-League club. That is the main reason we brought Patrick Mulcahy, who is very familiar with the youth soccer scene in that area, to be the club’s Director of Coaching.”
The Wanderers are currently slated to field boys and girls teams in the U13, U15 and U17 division of the Super Y-League. Seacoast United is also looking to field teams in the U14 and U16 age divisions moving forward. The Wanderers facilities will be located in the greater Nashua/Manchester area.
“We thoroughly believe the Wanderers will be a very competitive addition to the New England Division,” added Willis. “Seacoast United is committed to making this program a successful and professional operation.”
Seacoast United Wanderers will compete against the top clubs in New York, Rhode Island, Vermont, Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire and Ontario during the Super Y-League regular season. At the end of the regular season, the top teams in the division are then invited to attend the Super Y-League North American Finals in Tampa, Florida. There, the top 140 teams in the United States and Canada compete for a North American Championship.
Players competing in USL’s Super Y-League are also eligible to attend the SYL Olympic Development Program Camps held in Tampa, Florida each year.
