Seacoast United Announces Participation in 2013 Super Y League

Seacoast United has announced its participation in USL’s Super Y league once again for the 2013 season.  Age groups that will take part in the summer competition are U13-U15 boys and girls.

The Super Y League will see a change in format this upcoming season, with defined weekend game dates replacing the regular 12-15 game league schedule.  Details are still being finalized and will become available once dates/locations are confirmed.

A new addition to this year will be the introduction to 11v11 for current U12 players.  In their first competition as U13's beginning late June/early July, the new U13 boys and girls teams will gain valuable experience as they progress from the small sided 8v8 to full sided 11v11 prior to taking the field for the Fall 2013 seasons.

Players interested in participating in the 2013 Super Y League are encouraged to contact Peter Decker (boys) at pdecker@seacoastunited.com or Chris Scott (girls) at cscott@seacoastunited.com

Seacoast United Super Y Overview

Seacoast United Soccer Club will enter 11 teams (U13 - 16) into the 2013 Super Y League New England Division. The 2013 season will mark the 12th straight year that the club has entered in the league, and the developmental benefits for SUSC players has consistently grown. The Super Y league continues to give SUSC players the opportunity to play in a well-organized and competitive league through the spring and summer months that hopefully culminates in teams’ playing in the National Finals in December.

Last season the SUSC Directors were very happy with the teams’ performances, and are looking forward to another competitive season in 2013.  Recent highlights:  In 2011, both the U15 and U16 Girls captured the National Championship at the Super Y League North American Finals in Tampa, Florida.  This is the 2nd Championship for the U16’s, who won their first title as U14’s in 2009.  The 2010 season saw six Seacoast United teams head to Tampa for the National Finals.  The 2009 Super 20 girls’ team also advanced to the national finals in Chicago.  These teams epitomize what is needed in the Super Y League, namely dedication and hard work, and we are proud of their performances.
