1)    Will the Super Y schedule conflict with other league and State Cup schedules?

The Super Y League schedule will consist of 12-14 games.  USYS Leagues and State Cup play ends after the first week in July.  If we were to wait until after all other commitments were finished before commencing the Super Y schedule, we would need to play 14 games in 6 weeks.  In an effort to create a less crowded game schedule later in the summer, we will schedule a few games throughout May and June.  These games will be strategically placed as to not conflict with league or State Cup play dates.  In addition, we will not train on Wednesdays during ODP training dates.

2)    What will the game and training schedule look like?

Each age division will have 10-12 games beginning in the middle of May and ending the second week of August.   Teams will play a home an away format with each opponent.  To see what teams are involved and view last year’s schedule, please visit http://supery.uslsoccer.com/schedules/index_E.html.  Team trainings will consist of 1 session per week at the Seacoast United Outdoor Complex in Epping, NH.  If the game schedule for a particular week is crowded and rest is required, the training for that week will be cancelled. This is done for the overall health of all players involved.

3)    What is the commitment level for the summer?

The Club philosophy on Super Y participation as it relates to commitment level is that we encourage families that want to go on vacations or take time away from soccer to do so.   You should not feel tied down to this team for the summer and not enjoy the sometimes much needed family time that you all deserve.   We can carry a roster of 26 players for this reason.   The purpose of playing on this team is to stay in a competitive environment during the summer months.  Players should be able to have the best of both worlds and not have to commit 100% or nothing.  Obviously, during the time that you are around, we expect full effort and attendance.

4)    What is the roster size and how will that relate to being rostered for games?

The roster size for each team will vary from 18-26 players.   The reason for an expanded roster is explained in question #3.   Each player rostered will be dressed for a fair amount of games as compared to his/her teammates.

5)    How many teams will you be creating and can players from outside of Seacoast United tryout?

We will be fielding 10 teams for the summer of 2011 (U13-U17 boys and girls).  The U13-U17 Seacoast United Premier Teams are primarily the Super Y League Seacoast United Wanderers teams, as it is part of our regular program.  Many of our current Seacoast United "Seacoast Team" players along with our Seacoast United Maine players will be tryout out for the Seacoast United Phantoms teams.  Players from outside the Club are more than welcome to tryout and will have an equal opportunity to make the teams.  Playing for Seacoast United throughout the year does not guarantee you a position on a Seacoast United Phantoms Super Y roster.
