Oxford United earned the promotion to Division 2 after a 3- 1 victory over York City in the final of the Blue Square Premier on Sunday May 16th at Wembley Stadium.   Oxford had a 2-1 lead with York pushing foward when the U’s scored an insurance goal just before injury time.

Oxford finished 3rd overall in the Blue Square Premier regular season, and advanced to the league final with a 2-0 win over Rushden & Diamonds in front of a crowd of 13,000 at Kassam Stadium.  Oxford had the 3-1 edge in the aggregate between the two semi-final matches.  Visit OUFC’s official website here.
